Great site. I'm a parent of a four year old girl and I'm happy to see that I now have resources on african issues. I'll be sure to come back often.
Canada should have a similar project to yours. With major spending cutbacks to our educational budgets, I expect the gap between the have and the have nots will widen.
Congratulations on a great innititative

when you are in a bus,and you see an old lady, you should get up from the seat that you are seating on if the bus is full and let her seat there.
when you have a piece of candy and someone asks you if they could have it,you should give it to them if you wish to.

The site is wonderful. My church is in the process of developing an African centered day care center. As a result, you can imagine just how excited I was to experience the site. I am also interested in finding out when is the National Day for African American children. Please write as soon as possible as I would like to plan something to honor the children in my church. Thank you so much. Hotep! Alisa Sample

We are another Barnard School! Hey, how ya' doing? We have 79 students in grades 1-8 (public). (No, we're not kidding...) Our principal is Barbara Knapp, who is wonderful (according to her). We are learning about the internet and will be visiting Washington, DC on May 13-17. What should we see when we are there? We are the 8th grade class writing to you. How many students do you have? Do you have a gym? We don't! We have an awesome basketball team, though. Please reply (:-)

my name is Jessica Ento. I am in the third grade at Maxwell park School in Oakland California. Our school just got wired for the internet on March 9th of this year. We don't have any up to date and modern computers at school yet but my parents and other volunteers are working on it. I have a computer at home and when I come to my Mommy's job she lets me have some time on her computer.I love to read, write stories, math and science. I am learning about the constellation and stuff. I have a new bike but I don't know how to ride it yet because I broke my arm when I got the bike and the weather has been bad so I haven't had a chance to practice I also like learning about black history.I am the vice president of a black history club my sister started when she was 9. (that was hecka long ago)Its a club for kids, by kids and about kids from ages 4 to age 18. We go on field trips like when we went ot Allensworth CAlifornia last October to see the town that was founded and run by ! African Americans at the turn of the century until someone poisend the drinking water. Anyway, we meet once or twice a month all year long. This month we learned about black inventors and the first black automobile manufacturer. Each of the members designed our own cars and then we had a race. It was really fun. Our club is split into two different groups. i belong to the Harambee Group which is for little kids and then there is Focus 2000 for the teenager members. This year my sister will be going off to college (yes! I get the room to myself) and the teenagers that are her age, seniors in High school are in what is called the Heir Apparent program. They do cool stuff like learn living skills and go to workshops about health and exercise and then they have a big party. Its called the Slaveship 2 Scholarship Shower. It was hecka fun last year!
Well I gotta go. i hope you will send me mail soon. I really like what you are doing. Keep up the good work
your friend

Hello Dara. My name is Mr. Jones. I am the computer teacher at Storman-Stufflin School. My students read about your magazine and they are in the process of writing you. They are in the 3rd grade and are very excited about your magazine. They are going to write you letters about themselves first. Then they will submit to you some of their work in hope that you enjoy them enough to publish them in your magazine. If possible could you e-mail a response or a welcome to the students. They would really enjoy hearing from you. Thank you
