The Internet portion of National Bar Association Live! is being produced
by the MelaNet Information & Communications Network.
To access the National Bar Association's Internet events, you will
need two things:
The National Bar Association Live! will be launched from the World
Wide Web address:
1) Internet access
2) Netscape 2.0 (or any other Java(tm) enabled browser)
*or*
2) An IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client.
Download GlobalChat IRC Client
The easiest way to access this event is to use the Netscape 2.0 browser and simple access the URL above. If you do not have access to Netscape 2.0, ask your Internet Service Provider for details on how to obtain it. Netscape 2.0 has Java(tm) support and will be able to use the iTRiBE IRC client for Java(tm).
If you are familiar with how the Internet Relay Chat works and would like to use your standard IRC client, here is the basic information that you'll need to connect to the iTRiBE IRC server:
Server name: irc.itribe.net
Server name: irc.itribe.net
Server port: 6667
Channel: #nbalive
To test, Enter the MELANET Chat Room
Server port: 6667
Channel: #melanet
Online services such as America Online, CompuServer and Prodigy do not provide IRC services through their "normal" systems. America Online offers true Internet access through their new GNN service. Netscape Navigator 2.0 should be a part of the GNN package. SPRYNET is CompuServe's true Internet service. SPRYNET customer's can use Netscape 2.0 to access the iTRiBE IRC client for Java(tm).
