African centered fashion why the cost is so expensive

AWG Discussion Forums: African Centered Fashions: African centered fashion why the cost is so expensive

I would love to have a dress but some of the prices are so expensive. The prices range from $750-$1150.00. I know you must pay for what you want but do you know of any places where I may find a dress at a more resonable price.
Regards,
Allen

The value of wedding gowns and dresses are moslty determined by the style and the fabric. The gowns that you may be referring to as "too much" may be made of silk, and you know that silk in that much fabric is a little more costly. One thing that I can suggest to you is to find a pretty good semstress and show her the dress of your choice. If you price the fabric, the style and the seamstress fee, you will see how the gowns and dresses costs are determined. Maybe you can have her to make the dress of your choice from a less expensive fabric. But do not always expect the same results as the costly dress.

African centered fashion why the cost is so expensive.
REASONS:
*Most of the fabrics and threads used are hand made and imported.
*One of a kind gown (Afrocentric style) and is custom made or made to measure specifically for you. Custom made gown be it tradition European style gown or Afrocentric do cost more than buying off the rack.
* For designer time and name/label.
* Quality workmanship and reliable service. You get what you pay for.
